Jim Starnes and Bill Hamby met years ago at Daddy’s Day at a nursery school. While sitting Indian-style on the floor, in their business executive attire, they exchanged curious glances while the other Dads belted out “Twinkle Twinkle” with unusual enthusiasm. They knew instantly they had several things in common: a sense of humor, common sense, and a sense that they would do anything for their children. They next got together in a business context, working collaboratively on several different projects. Along the way they found more things in common, including a level of interest, talent and skill in preparing food. As the primary cook in each of their home kitchens, Jim and Bill had been developing their craft over a long period of time. Each had limited restaurant experience as part of their youth, but most of their training was self-taught through practice, research and study. Discovering a common passion for taking care of people by cooking for them, as well as a passion for following one’s passion, in 2004 Jim and Bill decided to share theirs with more than just family and friends.

In addition to chef-ing, Jim is a high school baseball coach and hitting instructor, a some-time business consultant and full-time husband and father. Bill is also a husband and father, author, and President of William Hamby Communications, a media and public relations consulting firm.
